Esmeralda and Quasimodo : Act II

Vendredi, janvier 22nd, 2010

Well, Quasimodo was the dog and in my story, it was it that abandoned Esmeralda to go look for a more fascinating master. Looks that is he also became more human and experienced, waiting for a headless woman to pick him up ;)  (click on picture to enlarge)

Esmeralda and Quasimodo : Act I

Jeudi, janvier 21st, 2010

Next to Notre Dame, a girl sits at a coffee with her friends while the dog lays bored. Let’s imagine the girl is Esmeralda, who is Quasimodo then ? (to be followed)

Family Business

Lundi, janvier 4th, 2010

As this lady starts bargaining with a street vendor for a cheap rubbish, the whole family gathers around her to make sure this is a fair deal. Italians ?  ;)  (click on picture to enlarge)

The two happy fellows

Lundi, novembre 23rd, 2009

As this painter takes a look at his cell phone in Le Marais, two men walk happily down the street. I guess he definitely missed a nice scene to include in his sketch … (click on picture to enlarge)

Queen Zombi and her disciples

Dimanche, novembre 1st, 2009

Coming back to yesterday’s Zombi day, here is a scene that looked a bit biblical to me. Queen Zombi among her disciples gets a revelation from the skies … maybe an order to march on La Bastille for a Zombi revolution ?  (click on picture to enlarge)

The big race down the street

Jeudi, septembre 24th, 2009

In Le Marais, kids line up on top of a street and get ready for the start signal. Un-Deux-Trois go … given his start I would not bet on the leftmost kid to win.

Apollinaire’s heir ?

Mardi, août 25th, 2009

As people party on the banks of the Seine River, this girl was deeply concentrated on her homwork. Or maybe was she the next Apollinaire, finding inspiration  in this atmosphere soaked with alcohol.   (click on picture to enlarge)

The shooters

Jeudi, juillet 30th, 2009

In front of this shooting stand at the Tuileries fair, I was stopped by this group of friends that asked me if I could take a picture of them. I gladly agreed and they took this band boys pause, probably getting ready to go “in the hunt” of some young women to seduce.    (click on picture to enlarge)

Flying shoes

Samedi, juillet 25th, 2009

As these two women prepare for a thrilling night ride in the Flying chairs, one of them cautiously removes her shoes. Would have been fun though to see someone being struck by a Flying shoe while walking down the nearby Avenue de Rivoli.     (click on picture to enlarge)

Three Rambo’s and a baby

Vendredi, juillet 17th, 2009

Surprising view by the Canal Saint-Martin as these three men walked around a baby. It reminded me of a twenthiest century version of the famous French movie “Trois hommes et un couffin” (which later became the US blockbuster “Three men and a baby”).      (click on picture to enlarge)

Evening chat on Ile des Cygnes

Samedi, juin 20th, 2009

Ile des Cygnes (Swan’s Island) is a long strip of earth in the center of the Seine that starts at the Bir-Hakeim Bridge and ends at the Statue of Liberty. A great place for a walk or a chat enjoying the last rays of the sun.    (click on picture to enlarge)

Djembe party

Vendredi, juin 12th, 2009

By the Seine, a large group of friends gather to slam on their Djembe drums all night long. Luckily, the only neighbours they could eventually bother are the statues of the nearby Louvres Museum.    (click on picture to enlarge)

Eurotrip

Vendredi, juin 5th, 2009

As high schools and universities around the world start to close their doors for the summer, students start to hit the road. One classic road trip is a tour of Europe with Paris being one of the obvious stops. So you will see numerous groups of friends heavily loaded with backpacks wandering around the city. This was certainly the case of this group of four friends whose hands very firmly clung to a metro post just like four lyal musketeers.       (click on picture to enlarge)

Saving Private Pierre

Mardi, avril 7th, 2009

I found this groupe of soldiers down les Champs-Elysées as they were walking with rythm and confidence. I am not sure why but this picture reminds me of the movie “Saving Private Ryan” where a squad goes to rescue the last son of a family as his three brothers were killed during the Normandy Invasion.      (click on picture to enlarge)

Little party by the canal

Lundi, mars 30th, 2009

These two girls sitting on the bank of the Canal Saint-Martin seemed to hold their own little party. A balloon, a rose, a cigarette and a can of beer … what else ?

The Gang

Lundi, mars 9th, 2009

There are many ways to go down a stair. In this instance, this gang of young kids found a creative way to do so, just like if they were part of the latest rap music video clip.    (click on picture to enlarge)
