Chinese mix up

mercredi, février 9th, 2011

I think I am bit late for the Chinese New Year congratulations, I don’t even know exactly when it ends. And this picture was taken last year anyways. So let’s enjoy the intemporal look of that girl and try not to get mixed up further.  (click on picture to enlarge)

The snow storm

jeudi, décembre 2nd, 2010

I can’t remember another instance where such a snow storm hit Western Europe so early in winter time. Up to 25 centimeters of snow were able to paralyze most of France and people had to find extra creativity to wipe off the snow piling up in the street or on store awnings. Rain is business

jeudi, novembre 11th, 2010

This week has probably  been the rainiest so far this year. Usually good business days for valets, yet this boy definitely had a very dry uniform… (click on picture to enlarge)

An elder man errs on the Champs-Elysées Avenue among thousands of wanderers. I wonder how it looked 50 years ago and what his memories of these times are.  (click on picture to enlarge)

The eyes of the draftsman

mardi, octobre 5th, 2010

Half scrutinzing and half in admiration, the eyes of a draftsman lock on their target and forget about the world around it.  (click on picture to enlarge)

Talking about eyes and to follow up on the manual focus series, here is a great link to a test that compares the Canon 5DII, Olympus E-P1 and Leica M9 in various situations. It seems that manual focus cameras are still kings in low light conditions ;)

Last one before the wild ride

lundi, septembre 27th, 2010

Riding a scooter in Paris is a tough challenge as danger can be at every corner. Like a cowboy before riding his horse, a last cigarette and the scooter driver will race to the battle field.

Candids are the ultimate goal of street photography. Grab an instant of time, an expression, a look or a smile without altering it with your presence. You see it but you are not part of it. (click on picture to enlarge)

Good Guy Inside

mercredi, juillet 28th, 2010

To celebrate the launch of latest installment of Starcraft, a large department store of Les Champs-Elysées organized a special event on Monday Night. Walking by, a huge blue robot appeared in the crowd and suddenlly came to faced me …  Fear ?  No, based on his look, « Good Guy Inside », more of a candidate to marry one’s sister.  (click on picture to enlarge)

Tour de Paris

lundi, juillet 12th, 2010

Good-bye to the World Cup and welcome to the Tour de France. I even think a new competition should be created, that is the Tour de Paris. Indeed, every day the prettiest girl found riding a bicycle in the city would get to wear a yellow skirt the next day.  Like the idea ? (click on picture to enlarge)
